Kissing Cousins Release

Kissing Cousins_750

The annual release date of our Kissing Cousins Whiskey is one marked down on every whiskey fan’s calendar. This year’s release has been set for Friday, May 22 and will be the perfect way to kick off Memorial Day weekend.

Kissing Cousins Whiskey is a unique limited batch whiskey created with the help of Buchanan’s Wyncroft Winery. Our Featherbone Bourbon ages for one year in new American white oak barrels and then only the best-tasting whiskey from these barrels is hand-selected to be finished for a year in a 1996 Wyncroft Winery cabernet sauvignon barrel. The extra time spent in the wine barrel adds complex, deep earth notes to the vanilla, spice and sweetness of the bourbon.

The partnership with Wyncroft Winery began in the early days of the distillery. The winery, just a few miles from the distillery, is owned by the family of one of our bartenders and the name is a nod to our bourbon kissing Wyncroft’s barrel.

Less than 750 375ml bottles were produced of this limited edition whiskey. Half of the bottles will be available for purchase at the distillery beginning at noon on Friday, May 22. Bottles at the distillery will retail for $34.99 each. The rest of the bottles will be distributed in California, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, and Washington, DC.

Complimentary tastings of the spirit will be offered from noon until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22. Kissing Cousins will also be available for purchase in the tasting room with 1 oz. pours for $5 and 2 oz. pours for $9.

The spirit will make an appearance in a special cocktail created for the release, the Black Magic, a combination of Kissing Cousins, Snaggletooth Coffee Liqueur and orange bitters.

The celebration will continue throughout the weekend with live music from Ryan Panos on Saturday night from 7:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. and Danny Sandock on Sunday night from 7:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.
